What you’re looking at
A working prototype of an online shop for military scale-model kits, with a real database and a staff admin behind it. Products, prices, stock, reviews and customers are placeholder data; no payment is processed.
What it does
Filter kits by category, scale, skill level, nation, era, manufacturer, price, what’s in the box and availability — with live counts. Filters live in the URL so a view can be bookmarked or emailed.
Every kit carries a 1–5 skill rating set by the shop, not the manufacturer.
In stock, low stock, pre-order with a ship date, backorder with lead time, and sold out with a restock-alert sign-up. Stock counts down as orders are placed.
Each kit page recommends paints matched to nation and era, the right primer and cement, and aftermarket upgrades confirmed to fit. Pick three or more and a bundle discount applies.
Customers submit reviews and finished-model photos; staff approve them in the admin before they show.
Mini-cart, free-shipping progress bar, promo codes, three delivery methods including local pickup, three-step checkout. Orders are priced server-side and land in the admin.
Staff sign in with Google at /admin to add and edit products (with photo upload), manage orders, approve reviews and gallery posts, and change shipping rates, tax and promo codes — no developer needed.
What going live adds
- Card payments (Stripe) — the order flow is built to swap this in.
- Order-confirmation and restock emails.
- Real product photography, loaded through the admin.
- A supplier stock feed, if the distributor offers one.
